[15:10] <JiriKremser> yes it is :]
[15:11] <JiriKremser> sry for dificulties, my mic should be ok, but it is not working :[
[15:13] <JiriKremser> yes, that is true. However, there exist similar implementation of the "router pattern" in Metro stack
[15:17] <JiriKremser> JAX-RS is part of CXF and this pattern is not needed for REST API, because the MTOM does not make any sense in the "REST world", imho
[15:18] <JiriKremser> *this pattern = "router pattern"
[15:18] <ajs6f> I'm on IRC< but in a meeting, so no Skype.
[15:19] <JiriKremser> ..or they can be easily solved by url path... for example "http://server/api_version/some_resource/..."
[15:20] <JiriKremser> i am ok :]

[15:21] <JiriKremser> yes
[15:22] <JiriKremser> well, I have some changes locally on my computer so far

[15:52] <fas[fiz]> heh
[15:53] <fas[fiz]> this moight be related: As a result of the modification of the directory structure, the common, shared and server classloaders have been merged into one. Effectively, the shared and server classloaders are not configured by default and the common classloader is mapped to the lib directory, as described above. This behavior and structure can be modified using the conf/catalina.properties file.

[20:06] <yegeniy> hello, I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction for using a DSpace instance directly through the Java DSpace API, instead of accessing DSpace through the XMLUI interface.
[20:09] <tdonohue> yegeniy: you might be better off using something like the REST API (which is still very new, alpha level code): https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSPACE/REST+API The DSpace Java API can be called directly, but you must be very Java savvy to build an entirely new application on top of it.
[20:09] <kompewter> [ REST API - DSpace - DuraSpace Wiki ] - https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSPACE/REST+API
[20:10] <yegeniy> tdonohue: Thank you. We've looked into the REST API (and it's pretty good) as well as the SRW/U implementation for DSpace
[20:10] <tdonohue> yegeniy: If you wanted to build a new application on the Java API, you may want to look at one of the existing web applications (XMLUI or JSPUI or similar) for example code on how to perform various tasks in the Java API, et
[20:11] <yegeniy> that's a great idea
[20:12] <yegeniy> We're using dspace as a database, and in order to query it, need to know about some custom metadata fields
